Gilles Guiheux’ research is at the crossroads of history and sociology. He has worked on entrepreneurship in China. His most recent program is on labor in the garment industry. He has recently published Contemporary China: 1949 to the present, Polity Press, 2023. Together with Bernard Thomann, he is the editor of Precariousness in high-growth economies. Comparing labor in contemporary China and postwar Japan and France, Amsterdam University Press (forthcoming in 2024).
