Description: Hompot received his Ph.D. degree in Sinology at the University of Vienna (2023), following BA and MA studies in Sinology and Global Studies in Hungary, China, Belgium, and Austria. Currently, Hompot is a researcher at the Prague University of Economics and Business (VSE) in the Horizon EU Project "European Hub for Contemporary China" (EuroHub4Sino), focusing on "China's multilateral institutions/frameworks, and global governance". Hompot is also a research fellow at the Bratislava-based, transnational think tank Central European Institute of Asian Studies (CEIAS). At CEIAS, Hompot regularly published analyses of Chinese media discourses on international affairs, and currently works in a project monitoring China-related media and social media discourses in the Visegrád countries. Hompot’s main current research interests include China-EU relations, strategic narratives, media influence, and the increasingly close ties between Budapest and Beijing.
