Focuses on Chinese climate and environmental policy, decarbonization, energy security, and green tech
Blanca Marabini San Martin examines recent trends in Chinese climate policy, focusing on the integration of green technology as a key element linking climate action with energy security. Through content analysis of government documents and interviews with policymakers, her thesis explores how green development has been embedded in China’s broader strategies. Additionally, using the fragmented authoritarianism model, it analyses the roles of new stakeholders, including leading small groups and digital actors, in shaping climate priorities. The research sheds light on China’s evolving environmental policies and their implications for global green transitions.
Beyond the thesis, Blanca Marabini San Martin is involved additional research and policy consulting projects on key green transition and green tech topics related to Chinese Foreign Policy and EU-China relations, such as Electric Vehicle policy or rare earths and other critical raw materials.
